Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in New Zealand's Central Otago wine region, Terra Sancta is a certified organic winery renowned for its excellent white and red wines. The Pinot Noir grapes are selected from the Mysterious Diggings vineyard, located approximately 300 meters above sea level on steep slopes in Bannockburn, in the Central Otago region. Here, the vines, planted in 1999 with six different clones, enjoy particularly favorable soil and climate conditions, with sandy soils and a northerly exposure, which favor the production of excellent quality wines. After harvesting and fermenting with indigenous yeasts, the finished wine ages in neutral French oak barrels. The result is a wine of great purity and character, which ranked fourth in James Suckling's 2025 list of the 100 best wines in the world. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense and broad aromatic profile with notes of cherry, red berry, and strawberry, followed by hints of juniper and spicy, earthy aromas. On the palate, it is lively and juicy, soft and smooth with a fresh acidity and a distinctive minerality. It has velvety tannins and a long, complex, and refreshing finish. It works perfectly with anything with mushrooms and also pairs well with duck.
