Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located just outside the French village of Pauillac, Château Lynch-Bages is one of the region’s historic estates, founded in 1749, with a vineyard classified as a Quintet Cru in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. It has been owned by the Cazes family since 1934. Chateau Lynch Bages Pauillac is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. After selection and manual harvesting from the estate's vineyards, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel, and the finished wine ages for a year and a half in oak (75% new) before blending and bottling. This expert blend creates a highly balanced wine, where Cabernet Sauvignon provides elegance and structure, Merlot strength and concentration, and Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc add spice. The resulting wine features an intense, deep color with purple tones and dark reflections. Its aromatic profile is expressive and complex, with exuberant notes of blackcurrant, wild berries, and cassis intertwined with tertiary aromas of tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate, and graphite. On the palate, it is rich, generous, and extremely elegant. It displays great concentration and complexity of flavors and is extremely balanced. It has smooth tannins, a distinctive minerality, and refreshing acidity. The finish is long, persistent, and layered. Try it with beef wellington, Chateaubriand steak, or pork medallions with porcini mushrooms.
